  • All the passengers were brought to Lahore from Jeddah by a special flight.

The repatriation of Pakistanis stranded in Saudi Arabia has begun, after the first Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight carrying 250 Pakistanis reached Lahore from Saudi Arabia.

According to the PIA spokesperson, the airline launched an operation to bring back Pakistanis stranded in Saudi Arabia. All the passengers were brought to Lahore from Jeddah by a special flight.

Thousands of Pakistanis have been stranded in Saudi Arabia for almost a month due to the cancellation of flights due to the coronavirus pandemic. The beleaguered Pakistanis include a large number of Umrah pilgrims.

According to sources, after landing at the airport, all the passengers were screened for coronavirus.
