The federal government has given Rs 50 million to the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration to be spent for treatment of coronavirus patients as total cases reached 181 in the city on Monday.

The Covid-19 cases have started to increase as in the last 24 hours, as many as 10 more patients were tested positive in the federal capital. Out of 181 corona patients, 20 have recovered and three have died, according to the official data.

Earlier, cases were reported from the city's rural areas including Bhara Kahu, Shehzad Town, Lohi Bher, Taramri but now the city administration sealed some houses in Sector G-6 and I-10 after the administration found a number of people affected by the coronavirus.

Similarly, a part of the sixth floor of Al-Mustafa Tower in F-10 has been sealed. According to the official data, Punjab has 3,721 cases followed by Sindh 2,537, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 1,235, Balochistan 432, Gilgit-Baltistan 263, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) 49.

Till the filling of this report, 1,970 coronavirus patients have so far recovered, and 176 have died across the country. Like other parts of the country, only big shopping malls, garments shops, cosmetics and some other shops remain closed in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

Following exemption given to hardware, stationery and book shops, hairdressers, auto workshops, tyre puncture, spare parts shops and tailor shops from lockdown, by the government, the rush of people is increasing in the markets with every passing day.

Similarly, huge rush of motorists was witnessed on various roads of the twin cities. The owners of various kinds of shops, which have been exempted from lockdown are openly violating the standard operating procedures (SOPs) devised for controlling the spread of the coronavirus.

The district administration has conducted disinfection spray in the Diplomatic Enclave and other some parts of the city. The Rawalpindi administration also conducted disinfection spray in various areas.
