Rain with wind-thunderstorm is expected in parts of the upcountry in the next 24 hours, the Met Office said on Monday. It said that rain and wind-thunderstorm are likely in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Islamabad and Kashmir. Hailstorm is also expected at a few places during the period. Dry weather may prevail elsewhere in the country.
"Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country. A westerly wave is likely to affect upper and central parts of the country from Monday evening to Tuesday," the Met said. In the past 24 hours: Weather remained dry in the most parts of the country. However, rainfall was witnessed in upper parts.
Maximum rainfall was recorded in Sialkot City as 25mm, Gujranwala 10mm, Narowal 9mm, Lower Dir 8mm and Parachinar 7mm. Mithi sizzled with 43 degrees Celsius, Hyderabad, Chhor and Shaheed Benazirabad 42 each, on Monday.
