In order to facilitate the civil administration in combating the spread of coronavirus and enforcing the social distancing policy, army has been deployed in aid of civil power in the federal capital, 108 districts of the provinces, the Gilgit-Baltistan as well as in various parts of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
According to the statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), "Pakistan army troops deployed across the country in aid of civil power under Article 245. Army troops are assisting federal and provincial administrations in ensuring enforcement measures for containment of COVID-19 with focus on Public Safety.
All points of entries (POE) being manned and monitored, establishment of joint check posts and joint patrolling with other law enforcement agencies (LEAs) [is] being carried out effectively. Contact tracking, tracing to identify and isolate suspected individuals being done to ensure containment of COVID-19 spread."
Army troops are assisting in management of quarantine facilities. A total of 182 Quarantine facilities have been established across the country.
