Secretary Agriculture Punjab Wasif Khursheed has announced that all agricultural commodities markets selling fruit & vegetables will continue working as per routine during the emergency situation announced by the provincial government.
He was chairing a meeting to devise a mechanism for ensuring availability of eatables during the emergency situation and soft lockdown announced by the Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar during a press conference here on Monday evening.
The secretary said that agricultural commodities market would work as per routine with all the precautionary measures due to Corona Virus. He said all the stakeholders have been directed to continue supply of lentils, fruit and vegetables to the masses. He said banners and flexes would be installed in all the markets to create awareness about Corona and precautionary measures against contracting this disease.
It was also informed at the meeting that water, soap and other articles to ensure cleanliness have also been provided. Staff deputed at these markets has been asked to fully follow the SOPs in this regard.
