Sindh High Court (SHC) has ordered the provincial government to appoint Chairman Sindh Text Board (STB) within fifteen days A division bench of the SHC issued the orders in an application regarding the non-compliance of the court's orders for appointing Chairman text board.

Applicant through Hyder Imam Rizvi Advocate submitted in the court that the SHC ordered on 20-03-2018 for appointing the Chairman and the Members of the Sindh Textbook Board within a period of 30 days, however, the orders were not complied with, which is a flagrant and blatant violation of the directions court.

The court had sought compliance report as regards the appointment of the Chairman of the Sindh Text Book Board within 15 days of the said order.

The applicant prayed the court to initiate proceedings for contempt of Court against Chief Secretary Sindh and Secretary School Education and Literacy Department for not complying with the orders.

The court in its order observed that the order passed by the court on 20-03-2018 has not been complied with and issued the directives that it shall be complied with in letter and spirit by appointing the Chairman of Sindh Textbook Board within fifteen (15) days from today.

The court also ordered the authorities concerned to place on record copy of the notification in this behalf before this court on the next date of hearing.

The court stated that in case of non-compliance stern action shall be taken not only against Chief Secretary and others and ordered for issuance of notice to Chief Secretary.
