Federal ministers, parliamentarians fail to submit asset details to ECP

• As per the ECP list 166 MNA’s did not submit their asset details, after the deadline for submitting asset details ended on December 31.
• According to the Election Commission, membership of non-submission members will be suspended from January 16. Suspended members will not be able to participate in any form of legislation.

Chairman Pakistan People Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Asif Ali Zardari alongside scores of parliamentarians including federal ministers failed to submit the details of their assets in the Election Commission Pakistan (ECP).

As per the list of members National Assembly, Provincial Assembly and Senate released by the ECP Election Commission, out of 1195 MPs, 595 did not submit the assets details, including 32 Senators, 166 MNA’s after the deadline for submitting asset details ended on December 31.

Among the MNAs that did not submit asset details Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Asif Ali Zardari, Federal Minister Ejaz Shah, Tariq Bashir Cheema, Federal Minister Fahmida Mirza, Ali Haider Zaidi, Federal Minister Noorul Haq Qadri and Railways minister Sheikh Rasheed.

Furthermore, Federal Minister Pervez Khattak, Shahryar Afridi also failed to submit details of assets.

Among the members of provincial assemblies;  190 members of Punjab Assembly, 85 members of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, 40 members of Balochistan and 82 from Sindh did not submit asset details, ECP said

As per ECP, every Member of an Assembly and Senate shall submit to the Commission, on or before 31st December each year, a copy of his statement of assets and liabilities including assets and liabilities of his spouse and dependent children as on the preceding thirtieth day of June on Form B.
