Prices of most of the essential kitchen items have witnessed a mixed trend during this week past as compared to previous week, a survey conducted by Business Recorder revealed here on Saturday.

The survey noted the tomatoes' prices witnessed a reduction from Rs 850 per 5kg to Rs 650 per 5kg in wholesales market and were being sold at Rs 140-150 per kg against Rs 200 per kg. Onions' price witnessed an increase from Rs 370 per 5kg to Rs 400 per 5kg which in retail market were being sold at Rs 90-95 per kg against Rs 80-85 per kg and potatoes' price went up from Rs 225 per 5kg to Rs 250 per 5kg which were being sold at Rs 60 per kg against Rs 50-55 per kg.

Garlic price went up from Rs 900 per 5kg to Rs 1,000 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 300 per kg against Rs 280 per kg, Chinese garlic remained stable at Rs 1,050 per 5kg which in retail market was available at Rs 300 per kg and ginger price also remained stable at Rs 1,000 per 5kg which was being sold at Rs 300 per kg.

Egg price went up from Rs 100 per dozen to Rs 108 per dozen which in the retail market was being sold at Rs 120 per dozen against Rs 110 per dozen, chicken price slightly went up from Rs 5,000 per 40kg to Rs 5,100 per 40kg which in the retail market was being sold at Rs 140 per kg against Rs 135 per kg while chicken meat was being sold at Rs 210 per kg.

Pumpkin prices remained stable at Rs 150-200 per 5kg which were being sold in the range of Rs 45-50 per kg, yam price also witnessed no change which was available at Rs 450 per 5kg while in the retail market it was being sold at Rs 110 per kg.

Okra price went up from Rs 250 per 5kg to Rs 350 per 5kg which was being sold at Rs 100-85 per kg against Rs 70 per kg and bitter gourd price went up from Rs 325 per 5kg to Rs 375 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 85-90 per kg against Rs 75-80 per kg and cauliflower price went up from Rs 175 per 5kg to Rs 325 per 5kg which was being sold at Rs 80-85 per kg against Rs 50 per kg and cabbage price went down from Rs 250 per 5kg to Rs 175 per 5kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 45-50 per kg against Rs 60 per kg.

Peas price remained unchanged at Rs 350 per 5kg which in retail market were being sold at Rs 75-80 per kg, beans price also remained stable at Rs 250 per 5kg which in the retail market were being sold at Rs 60-65 per kg, prices of various qualities of tinda went up from Rs 150-250 per 5kg to Rs 200-300 per 5kg which in the retail market were being sold in the range of Rs 55-75 per kg against Rs 45-65 per kg; and turnip price remained stable at Rs 100 per 5kg which in the retail market was being sold at Rs 30 per kg. During the week under review, fine quality powdered chilli price went up from Rs 15,000 per 40kg to Rs 18,000 which in retail market was being sold at Rs 480 per kg against Rs 400 per kg, powder turmeric price went up from Rs 9,000 per 40kg to Rs 10,500 per 40kg which in retail market was being sold at Rs 350 per kg against Rs 300 per kg. No change was observed in entire range of pulses prices' as fine quality Mash pulse was available at Rs 230 per kg, Moong pulse at Rs 200 per kg and fine quality Lobia at Rs 200 per kg. Fine quality Basmati rice was available at Rs 175 per kg, normal Basmati at Rs 100 per kg and Irri-6 rice at Rs 90 per kg. Sugar price also remained stable at Rs 3,400 per 50kg bag which in retail market was being sold at Rs 72 per kg.

Overall fruit prices witnessed a mixed trend as golden apple was being sold at Rs 110 per kg, Gaja apple was available at Rs 100 per kg, white apple at Rs 80 per kg, Pakistani Kala Kolo apple at Rs 150 per kg and Iranian Kala Kolo apple was available at Rs 145 per kg.

Good quality local banana was being sold at Rs 90 per dozen against Rs 75 per dozen while normal quality banana was being sold in the range of Rs 60-75 per dozen against Rs 50-60 per dozen, and guava was available at Rs 90 per kg against Rs 80 per kg. Various brands of oranges were being sold in the range of Rs 80-200 per dozen against Rs 90-100 per dozen, grapes were being sold in the range of Rs 100-180 per kg, and pomegranates were being sold in the range of Rs 150-250 per kg against Rs 100-200 per kg.
