A local welfare organization - Madadgar Development Programme - distributed warm clothes and note books among the orphan and poor schoolchildren from low income families in an effort to mitigate their sufferings in the chilly winter season.
The warm clothes and notebooks were distributed among 50 needy students during a distribution ceremony at a community school in Mukhtiar Abad Jango locality of Yarhussain village, said a press release issued here.
Local elders including Nazim Sardchina - Qaisar Khan, Haji Murad Khan, Gulzar Ghani, Yousuf Ali, Saeed Khan, Kawsar Ali and Munir Khan among others were also present on the occasion.
Muhammad Tahir a social worker and Chairman Madadgar Development Programme said that although the winter is welcomed by the privileged wealthy people with festive moods, however, it brings a lot of sufferings to the poor and disadvantage people. "Quite sadly, many poor people in our country cannot afford to buy warm clothes for winter. In this scenario, women and children especially suffer more," he maintained.
"Some parents cannot afford to provide the necessary winter clothes for their children due to financial difficulties," he said. "Our colleagues supported the organisation, and we are grateful to all our citizens, who responded to our call and did not stand aside, showing care to those in need," Tahir added.-PR
