Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that Azadi March would be peaceful if Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government does not intervene. "The PPP has always stood by democracy and Parliament but this selected and incompetent prime minister is using all non-democratic means like pressurizing National Accountability Bureau (NAB), judiciary and institutions, and, therefore, democratic forces are forced to take extreme step," Bilawal expressed these views while talking to the media outside Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) after inquiring after health of his father Asif Ali Zardari on Monday.

Criticizing the PTI-led government, he said that the people are being deprived of their rights. "Everything from politics to economy is ruined. This non-democratic government has snatched freedom of expression and right to protest from people," he claimed. He said that he salutes all those who are participating in Azadi March. "Together we are united against this government for the people of Pakistan. The PPP is starting its own campaign in South Punjab where we will hold rallies in different cities," he said.

Bilawal said that good times lay ahead for Pakistanis as Prime Minister Imran Khan will soon tender his resignation. He said that the Azadi March has just begun and a lot of things lay in near future to happen. He said that he has asked his party's workers to welcome the participants of the march when they enter the federal capital.

He said that his father Asif Zardari should be provided medical facilities as per law. "I just met my father in PIMS and I demand that he should be given medical facilities as per court's order. Unfortunately, he was not given proper medical care in jail which is why his health deteriorated," he said. Bilawal added that earlier Zardari was shifted to hospital for only a day and was sent back to jail which affected his health.

"There is no conviction against my father. Nawaz Sharif was arrested after he was convicted; however, on the other hand, no case has been proved against Asif Zardari but still he is in jail," he said. The PPP chairman said that he does not believe that his father would get his due rights during the government of Imran Khan.

"I am happy that he is in hospital but I am not a doctor so I can't say anything about his health. I just want our family doctors to be given access to him and also the medical board should share complete test reports with us," Bilawal demanded.
