Boris Johnson says Britain can 'easily cope' with no-deal Brexit

Britain Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that while the chances of a Brexit deal is touch and go, Britain is a 'great, great country' and can 'easily cope' with a no-deal Brexit after October 31.

Speaking at the summit of G7 countries in France, Johnson said that the chance of leaving without no-deal 'all depends on European Union (EU) friends and partners', international media reported. Johnson, who previously said the odds of a no-deal Brexit were 'a million to one', said,"I think it's going to be touch and go. But the important thing is to get ready to come out without a deal".

He further said that Britain can easily cope with a no-deal Brexit. “I think we can get through this, this is a great, great country, the UK, we can easily cope with a no-deal scenario,” Johnson added. He was also of the view that EU will be blamed if Britain leaves without an agreement.

The Britain prime minister also insisted that it is highly unlikely there will be any food or medicine shortages if Britain leaves the EU without a deal.

Last week, UK had announced that it will immediately end freedom of movement for people from the EU in case of a no-deal Brexit. This means that from November onwards, the rights of EU citizens of the right to enter the UK to live, work or study will be scrapped.
