For India, 'madness' is the new solution in IoK: Fawad Chaudhry
Following the arrest of former chief ministers of Indian-occupied Kashmir (IoK) Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that it seems that for Indian enterprise, madness is the new solution for Kashmir.
Taking to his official Twitter handle, the minister wrote, "Whole Indian Occupied Kashmir leadership is under arrest, apart from Hurriyat leaders people like Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti who traditionally favoured Indian mantra are under arrest, seems for Indian enterprise madness is new solution for Kashmir."

On Sunday, Abdullah wrote on his Twitter handle that he was being placed under arrest while the process for other mainstream leaders was also in initiated. "Violence will only play in to the hands of those who do not have the best interests of the state in mind. This wasn’t the India J&K acceded to but I’m not quite ready to give up hope yet. Let calm heads prevail. God be with you all," he added.
Last week, Indian government had sent 10,000 extra troops to IoK. Indian media also reports that a further 25,000 had been ordered there on Friday. The government had also asked tourists to leave IoK because of 'terror threats'.
In the weekend, Section 144 of the Indian Penal Code has been imposed, with mobile internet connections being blocked on many places. The government has also banned large gatherings and public meetings as a precautionary measure.
