Zardari lauds services of ex-Chairman Senate

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday lauded the services of former Chairman of Senate, Farooq H Naek and appreciated his role in ensuring smooth running of the legislative business.

Talking to Farooq H Naek who paid farewell call on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, the President lauded his valuable contributions in passing of important legislation during his tenure.

Zardari said his tenure as Chairman Senate will be remembered about restoring the 1973 constitution into its original form, bringing about 19th and 20th Constitutional amendments and the passage of women related and other important legislation.

Farooq H Naek thanked the President, the Parliament, party and the government for reposing confidence in him by nominating him first as Chairman Senate and later by supporting him in discharging his duties.

Senator Naek said that he would continue to serve the party with the same devotion and commitment now as Senator and a professional lawyer.
