Scattered spells of rain continued for the second consecutive day in the city amidst a fresh forecast of the Met office that rains would continue for another 24 hours. Torrential rain in major parts of the city cooled down the weather and the citizens took a sigh of relief with the end of severely humid weather, which had gripped the city throughout the Eid holidays.
Similarly, reports were pouring in the provincial headquarter of the Met office that monsoon rains had hit many other cities of the province, including Islamabad, Sialkot, Daska, Dera Ghazi Khan, Wazirabad, and Mandi Bahauddin. It may be noted that many other cities of central Punjab had registered a good spell of rain the other day. A large number of citizens had rushed to gardens and eateries to enjoy a pleasant change in weather, as rainwater had immediately flushed out of the low lying areas after a strong spell of torrential rain.
