Vice President of North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry (NKATI), Faisal Shabu has sought the intervention of Governor Sindh, Imran Ismail in the matter of dumping of debris in industrial area and issue necessary directives to concerned authorities to lift the garbage and debris from Garbage Transfer Stations (GTS) and road 9000.
In a letter to the Governor Sindh, he draw his attention towards a very serious matter of damping Gujjar Nala debris inside industrial area, rather than to dumping at landfill sites.
He said that the local administration was not regularly cleaning GTS in North Karachi industrial area due to which huge mountains of garbage have been created. After making hectic efforts of NKATI since long, local administration came out to lift garbage from GTS but regretfully after the start of clean Karachi campaign, Gujjar Nala debris is also being dumped in GTS of north Karachi industrial area as well as at road 9000, which has created environmental issues and especially the production capacity of export oriented industries is adversely affected by it.
