Housing societies falling in the territorial limits of the Islamabad will have to fulfil the basic requirements as per rules and regulations and no relaxation in this regard will be given. Housing societies must take the steps for provision of all civic amenities like solid waste system, STP, road network and others to the residents of the societies. Capital Development Authority (CDA) will extend its technical support in establishing facilities like sewerage treatment plant and others for facilitating the residents of the city.
These directions were passed during a meeting held at CDA headquarters on Tuesday to discuss different issues pertaining to the housing societies. The meeting was presided over by the chairman CDA and was attended by member planning and design, senior officers of planning wing and representatives of different housing societies.
The representatives of housing societies were directed to ensure the implementation of rules and regulations enforced within the territorial limits of the capital for the facilitating the residents of these societies. The housing societies have been directed to establish their sewerage treatment plants at the earliest. In this connection housing societies must submit the engineering designs of STPs for approval in the authority. It was also directed that in case of feasibility if two or three societies intend to establish joint STP, they may submit their engineering designs / proposals in the CDA for scrutiny and consideration. In this connection authority will provide technical facilities in establishing STPs.
It was further directed that road infrastructure and other facilities in the housing societies may also be improved as the residents of the societies should be given the facilities up to the mark. It was also informed that CDA will help out the housing societies in identification of the road network. Housing societies have been further told to observe the existing rules and regulations in their true letter and spirit and submit their documents for LOP and NOC procedures.
Housing societies have been also asked to submit their collective workable suggestions regarding easement in the procedures of LOP and NOC so that these could be placed before the Federal Commission constituted to revise master plan of Islamabad.
