The Capital city witnessed an increase in incidents of motor vehicle theft as over 10 vehicles including motorbikes were stolen from various localities of the metropolis during the last week.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder, armed robbers struck at six different places in the city depriving citizens of huge valuables during the last week. The most favourite areas for the criminal gangs were within limits of Koral, Kohsar and Bhara Khau police stations.
During the last week Koral police station registered two cases of robbery and one case of auto theft. Unknown car lifters stole a bike bearing registration number MBL-6680 of one Atif of Rs 85,000. Tahir Mehood informed Koral police station that unidentified robbers stole cash and an LED TV of Rs 70,000 from his house. Another Muhammad Yousaf informed the same police station that bandits stole different valuables from his house.
In the same period Bhara Kahu police station registered one case each of auto theft and robbery. Auto theft stole a Suzuki van bearing registration number LEF-2347 of Zahore Elahi of Rs 400,000. Another Bashir Hussain lodged a complaint with Bhara Khau police station that the unidentified robbers stole cash and gold ornaments of Rs 700,000 from his house. During the period under review Kohsar police station registered five cases with respect to stealing of street lights and one case of auto theft. Auto theft stole a bike bearing registration number RIL-668 of Jawad Abbas. In the same period, Margalla, Sihala, Sabzi Mandi, Noon, Aabpara, Golra and Karachi Company police stations registered one case each of auto theft while one case each of robbery was reported to Industrial Area and Shehzad Town police stations.
