Supreme Court (SC) on Friday reserved the judgment on admissions in Shaheed Benazir Medical College, Lyari allegedly on fake domiciles. At Karachi Registry, a two member bench of SC comprised of Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Sajjad Ali Shah reserved the judgment on the petitions of two students Haleem Khan Saddam Hussain, who moved the court against their non-admission despite fulfilling the merit. Abdul Salam Advocate, counsel for the students told the court that his clients were deprived of admission due to admission of some other students allegedly on fake domiciles.
Justice Sajjad Ali Shah said that the batch of students of 2013 in the college have passed out and are now doctors. "Whether you wants the degrees of these doctors are cancelled", Justice Shah remarked. Justice Shah and Abdul Salam Advocate exchanged harsh words when the latter asked for summoning the rules from Sindh Government and former replied that whether Sindh Government should be sacked if something wrong happened.
Abdul Salam Advocate then left the rostrum and showed his inability to continue the arguments. Student Haleem Khan said that inquiry held into the admissions showed that these were done on fake domiciles. Justice Shah said Sindh Government is responsible for it as the career of the student has been destroyed.
