The Karachi Port handled 151,854 tonnes of cargo comprising 122,888 tonnes of import cargo and 28,966 tonnes of export cargo including 7,346 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Thursday. The total import cargos of 122,888 tonnes comprised of 57,202 tonnes of containerised cargo; 10,285 tonnes of bulk cargo; 1,249 tonnes of canola and 54,152 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 28,966 tonnes comprised of 25,384 tonnes of containerised cargo; 1,353 tonnes of wheat and 2,229 tonnes of rice.
As many as 7,346 containers comprising of 3,852 containers import and 3,494 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,376 of 20's and 1,197 of 40's loaded while 28 of 20's and 27 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 733 of 20's and 363 of 40's loaded containers while 551 of 20's and 742 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Hyundai Vancouver, Polo, Botany Bay and Chemroute Sky carrying containers and oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. As Paola, Navios Unison, Cosco Hong Kong, Cosco Japan, Sun Rise and Maritime Coaction carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 214,778 tonnes comprising 157,702 tonnes of import cargo and 57,076 tonnes of export cargo including 3,913 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
The total import cargo of 157,702 tonnes includes 70,820 tonnes of LNG; 8,450 tonnes of palm oil; 37,915 tonnes of coal; 2,768 tonnes of mogas; 15,425 tonnes of soyabean; 5,053 tonnes of chemical and 17,271 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 57,076 tonnes includes 57,076 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,913 containers comprising of 909 containers import and 3,004 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Thursday.
There were three ships namely MOL Grandeur, MSC Asya and Ummbab carrying containers and LNG respectively sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships namely Pavo Bright and Paros carrying coal and chemical respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, bitumen, coal, soyabean, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as eight vessels viz. Tempanos, Ceylon Breeze, IVS Basch Hoek, Aeriko, Gemini, Magda, Singaopo and Navig-8 Amber respectively carrying containers, soyabean, coal and chemical respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. Tempanos, Hansa America, IVS Basch Hoek, Gemini, AS Paola and Navig-8 Amber carrying containers, coal and chemical respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Thursday.
There were two ships namely Hansa America and AS Paola carrying containers due to arrive on Thursday, while another ship namely Cosco Japan carrying containers is due to arrive on Friday.
There are two ships namely Happy Helena andMS Tiger carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
