Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has rejected the hike in prices of petroleum commodities and announced that it will organise rallies and demonstrations against the government decision across the province today (Sunday). In a press statement issued here on Saturday, JI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chapter's chief Mushtaq Ahmad said government has fired with petrol bomb before advent of the holy month of Ramazan by increasing petrol prices up to Rs 9 per litre and diesel Rs 4.89 per litre, which will bring tsunami of price-hike in the country.
He said government had admitted on floor of the National Assembly that it is earned profit of Rs 36.34 per litre on petrol and Rs 47.17 per litre on diesel, despite the fact, the gradual increase in prices of petroleum was witnessed. Keeping in view the government's anti-masses policies, he said JI has decided to hold protest demonstrations today. Mushtaq Ahmad expressed grave concern over disallowing JI Youth workers from participating in the party gathering.
