The funeral prayers of 13 people who lost their lives in Mastung road crash were offered on Wednesday. A day earlier, 13 people including two women, two children were killed and 18 others were wounded as a passenger van collided with an over speeding truck coming from the opposite side at National Highway near Ghanja Dhori area of Mastung district. Rescue sources said that the passenger van was moving towards Quetta from Karachi. The affected belonged to the same family travelling to Quetta for attending a marriage ceremony.
Dead bodies and wounded persons including women and children were shifted to a nearby hospital. On February 6, at least 15 passengers had burnt to death, when a passenger coach caught fire after smashing into a wagon at the Indus Highway in Karak.
The dreadful road crash took place near Tabi Kho Stop as a DI Khan-Peshawar bound passenger coach rammed into a wagon, coming from the opposite side, resulting in the death of 13 passengers on the spot. Soon after the incident, the locals reached the spot and moved four injured passengers to a nearby medical facility, but two of them succumbed to their injuries, raising the death toll to 15.
