Over 60 people, including policemen have been killed in first three months of current year in Karachi. A Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) report stated that 21 people lost their lives in January 2019 and 38 in February. However, CPLC has not cited figures of March 2019.
As many as 9,644 incidents of mobile snatching occurred in the last three months. Around 5,813 two-wheelers and 345 four-wheelers were also seized on gunpoint from the citizens during three months. Eight complaints of extortion were registered and two bank robberies were carried out in the last three months.
