International Cricket Council (ICC) CEO David Richardson said Pakistan has done a tremendous job and is moving in the right direction to completely bring international cricket back to the country. Richardson was here in Karachi on Sunday to witness HBL PSL final between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi.
"There was a perception of Pakistan that it is dangerous, which has now changed. Pakistan did a tremendous job. Security forces played its role. Foreign players visiting Pakistan for PSL matches is indicative of that," Richardson said while talking to reporters here at National Stadium on Sunday night.
While mentioning the terrorist attack on two mosques in New Zealand, he said that we live in a dangerous world and security around the upcoming World Cup in UK will already be high but if there is any indication of danger then it will further be heightened.
Richardson added that cricket inspire communities and unite them.
When asked about Indian cricket team donning army caps during their matches against Australia, he said that it was a one-off incidence and the team was allowed after deliberation. It was made sure there was no political agenda and it was allowed to raise funds for families and terrorist attack victims.
Meanwhile, he added that if India back out of its matches against Pakistan during World Cup then Pakistan would get full points.
