Over 20 incidents of armed robbery, dacoity, murder, and vehicle theft took place in the city during the last week, depriving citizens of valuables worth millions of rupees. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, over 10 cases of theft including robbery, dacoity and snatching, 10 cases of car-lifting and two murder cases were reported during the last week. The most favourite areas for the criminal elements were within the limits Karachi Company, Industrial Area, Nilor, Margalla, Ramna and Sihala police stations.
During the aforementioned week, Karachi Company police station registered four cases of theft including robbery, dacoity and snatching at gunpoint. Afsha Serwer filed a complaint with Karachi Company police station that unknown robbers stole cash and an LED of Rs 70,000 from her house.
In another incident, a citizen Attiqur Rehman informed Karachi Company police station that unknown robbers stole gold jewellery of Rs 780,000 from his house.
Some unidentified robbers broke into the house of a citizen namely Muhammad Asghar located in the limits of Karachi Company police station and looted prize bonds, cash and mobile phone valuing Rs 1,500,000. One Shahzad Ahmed lodged a complaint with Karachi Company police station that three armed persons looted of Rs 700,000 from him at gunpoint.
During the last week, Sihala police station registered one case each of robbery and murder. Ahmad Aslam informed Sihala police station that three unknown robbers broke into his house and looted jewellery of Rs 600,000. Another Hussain Tilawat lodged a complaint with Sihala police station that three unknown person riding a bike killed his brother Nazakat Hussain.
Nilor police station registered one case each of robbery and murder during the last week. One Berkat Ali lodged a complaint with Nilor police station that accused Waqas Shah and Hazzrat Ali shot dead his brother Haider Hussain over land dispute.
One Raja Aftab informed Nilor police station that unknown robber stole gold jewellary, cash and other valuables worth Rs 1,300,000 from his house. In the same period Margalla police station registered two cases of motor vehicle theft. Carjackers stole a bike bearing registration number RIW-4716 of Muhammad Ayus and lifted a bike RLD-4333 of Ahmed.
Two cases of motor vehicle theft were reported to Industrial Area police station during the last week. Motor vehicle thieves stole a car bearing registration number DE-1670 of Raja Ehtisham and stole a bike of Tanweer Ahmed. Similarly two cars were stolen from the limits of Ramna police station in the same time. Auto theft stole a car (IDJ-2842) of Haji Akbar and lifted another car (LEE-8270) of Asif Mehfoz.
During the last week, Golra, Lohi Bher and Shehzad Town police stations registered one case each of auto theft while Aabpara and Sabzi Mandi police stations registered one case each of robbery.
