Speaker, National Assembly, Asad Qaiser has made it clear that he would only follow rules and take no dictation from anyone in this regard.
Addressing a ceremony held in connections with the foundation stone laying of new Central Jail Swabi at Shah Mansoor Township, Swabi and later talking to media Saturday, he said he would discuss the matter with regard to the proposed inclusion of Sheikh Rashid on Public Accounts Committee (PAC) with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Special Assistant to KP CM Abdul Karim Khan was also present on the occasion. The construction of the New Central Jail will cost Rs 1.44 billion. The Speaker, National Assembly, said that Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmad had his own political party and was free to talk on any issue.
He said he had talked to the leadership of his party and did not know the problem of Sheikh Rashid. "However, whatever I will do I will do it according to rules and will not take dictation from anyone," he said. He said PIA, Steel Mills and other state enterprises were facing crisis due to the prevailing economic situation.
He said the construction of new District Jail Swabi would be completed in two years where a modern hospital would also be available for inmates.
