On Friday at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Limited, PMEX Commodity Index closed at 3,583. The traded value of Metals, Energy and COTS/FX was recorded at 9.851 billion and the number of lots traded 19,584. Major business was contributed by WTI crude oil amounting to PKR 4.895 billion, followed by NSDQ100 PKR 1.687 billion, currencies through COTS PKR 775.351 million, platinum PKR 729.822 million, natural gas PKR 652.317 million, gold PKR 591.253 million, Brent crude oil PKR 177.389 million, silver PKR 153.637 million, DJ PKR 68.507 million, SP500 PKR 48.754 million, copper PKR 40.111 million and Japan Equity 225/USD PKR 31.688 million. In agriculture commodities 14 lots of cotton valued at PKR 7.222 million and Red chilli 54,860 lots amounting at PKR 15.875 million were traded.
