Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX) is in continuous quest to create awareness amongst stakeholders of the commodity market and in this respect follows a multi-pronged awareness strategy comprising of training programs, workshops and seminars in a collaborative environment to deliberate on strategies, policies and best practices for strengthening the commodity market in Pakistan.
The focus of the Exchange now is to bring to light the impediments to growth and to develop a strategy for the next stage of development for commodity futures trading in Pakistan. In line with this perspective, PMEX is organising a full day conference on February 20, 2016 titled "Commodity Futures Trading in Pakistan: The Changing Paradigm," in Islamabad at the Serena Hotel.
PMEX has invited prominent local and international speakers to present papers on key areas of commodities futures trading and its development in Pakistan. Over 250 guests from public as well as private sector are expected to attend the conference. The event will also host a foreign delegation from the Association of Futures Markets (AFM) and other international exchanges such as Johannesburg Stock Exchange, Agricultural Commodity Exchange for Africa, Izmir Commodity Exchange and Borsa Istanbul. In the opening ceremony of the event, there will also be a MoU signing between PMEX and Johannesburg Stock Exchange.-PR
