Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Regional Tax Office-II Karachi Seema Shakil held a meeting with representatives of various Trade Associations, Karachi on February 11, in her office, for creating awareness and understanding of Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (VTCS) among the business community.
All the commissioners of RTO-II namely Dr Ghulam Mustafa Rahu, Maroof Gilani, Abdul Rehman Bulb, Ejaz Khan, were also present on the occasion. The representatives of the trade organisations included namely Atiq Mir, Chairman All Karachi Tajir Ittehad; Haji Ansar Beg Qadri, President All Karachi Tajir Ittehad Liaqatabad; S M Asif, Vice president, All Karachi Tajir Ittehad Liaqatabad, Aziz Piprani, Chairman Karachi Timber Market Association and Muhammad Asif, President, Allahwala Cloth Merchant Welfare Association.
During the meeting salient features of Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme and its benefits were explained to the participants at length. Copies of the brochures/pamphlets in Urdu, containing salient features of the Scheme, were handed over to the representatives of Trade Associations for their guidance.
During her address, the Chief Commissioner, RTO-II Karachi, elaborated the benefits of the Scheme. During the question/answer session, queries of the participants on different aspects of the Scheme were answered to the satisfaction of the traders. At the end, all the participants showed full satisfaction with the Scheme and promised to extend their complete cooperation to make the VTCS successful.
The Chief Commissioner told the participants that the officers and officials have been directed to reach out to traders and markets within their jurisdiction and to convince them of the benefits of this Scheme. Atiq Mir, Chairman All Karachi Tajir lttehad and others assured the Chief Commissioner that they will assist and provide every help to FBR staff in establishing kiosks at different market premises.-PR
