The Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan, organised a daylong workshop on the application and usage of Student Web Portal System of the Prime Minister's Tuition Fee Reimbursement Scheme at its Secretariat.
The workshop was held for the representatives of universities from the less developed areas of Sindh, Balochistan and Gilgit-Baltistan with an aim at providing practical guidelines, tools and tips regarding the Student Web Portal System, as the entire system of Prime Minister's Fee Reimbursement Scheme has been automated.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr G Raza Bhatti, Acting Executive Director HEC highlighted the importance of the application of Student Web Portal system for online student registration, validation of student record and funds utilisation report.
He said, "The government is keen to support the youth of less developed areas of Pakistan and in order to maximise transparency, a customised web based system has been designed specifically by HEC to facilitate the overall processes of the scheme. Although universities are adapted to the manual system, yet this workshop has been helpful to improve the capacity of the university representatives so that they can work efficiently on the web portal system."
It is worth mentioning that this was the fourth workshop of a series carried out at HEC. The first workshop on Web Portal System of Prime Minister's Tuition Fee Reimbursement Scheme was conducted in Peshawar for the representatives of all public sector universities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The second workshop was organised for the representatives of universities from the twin cities (Islamabad and Rawalpindi) and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, while the third workshop was held for the South Punjab region.-PR
