Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HCCI) urged Sindh government to pay the pending salaries of employees of Hyderabad Development Authority (HDA) as soon as possible. Senior Vice President, Turab Ali Khawaja said this in the statement released here on Saturday.
He said that employees of HDA were not paid four month salaries while seven month salaries were not paid to pensioners and contract employees. He expressed serious concerns over the issue where workers have not been paid despite performing their duties which is against fundamental rights and moral.
If the salaries were not paid, employees would close down the system of sanitation in Hyderabad which would aggregate the situation as already the safe drinking water is not being supplied to citizens, he said. He appealed Secretary Local bodies Sindh, Commissioner Hyderabad to take up the issue with Chief Minister Sindh as salaries could be released as soon as possible to ensure continuous service of sanitation system in the Hyderabad.
