Sindh Agriculture Department would set up call centre to provide the information to growers in the province around the clock. According to the statement released by information department on Thursday, it was told to meeting held with Sindh Secretary for Agriculture, Supply and Prices department Shahid Gulzar Shaikh in chair here. The secretary was on the visit here to review development projects funded by World Bank and devise the new strategy in this regards, it said.
It was further informed that Call centre would work around the clock to provide the information to growers on cultivation of corps and other suggestions. Focal groups were formed and the appropriate suggestions would be sought from them to extend the 70 per cent subsidy support to growers of chillies and other crops, it was told in the meeting. Aim of developing such program is to provide benefits to middle and small growers of chillies, rice and others as it could enhance their profits, it further said. On the occasion, Secretary issued directives to concerned officials that such project would be beneficial for growers and development of agriculture sector, it said while quoting him.
