Wildlife department cancels Ashura holidays

Wildlife Department Punjab's Director General Khalid Ayyaz has cancelled holidays of all the field officers/staff deputed in the wildlife parks, breeding centres and zoological gardens across the province during Ashura holidays (Friday-Saturday). The Department has also constituted special raiding teams to check the presence of the staff in all the provincial wildlife parks, breeding centers and zoo.
Presiding over a departmental meeting here on Wednesday, DG Wildlife Khalid Ayyaz said that hunters might take advantage of holidays for illegal hunting of wildlife especially falcon and partridges. He directed that field officers and staff should remain present at the place of their duty and keep vigilance over those trying illegal hunting.
