Modest activity on grain market

Modest trading activity was witnessed on the grain market on Tuesday as leading buyers kept on the sidelines due to less buying interest, dealers said. On the cereals side, wheat new Bardan posted fresh gain Rs 25 to Rs 3425, other commodities maintained overnight levels, they said.
On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake low type extended overnight gain, picking up more Rs 50 to Rs 1650 and the good type was unchanged at Rs 1700, castor seeds Sindh lost Rs 100 to Rs 3000 and castor seeds Lakhra, however, gained Rs 50 to Rs 3250, they said. On the rice and grams sectors prices held the overnight levels, they said.
