Former Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry has announced to hold a 'million march' in front of the United Nations' building on October 25, demanding the international community's due role in resolving Kashmir issue and defusing tension between Pakistan and India. According to statement issued here on Monday, he said there was a fear of conflict between the two nuclear states after suspension of the dialogue process.
"It is the high time to aware the international community about sensitivity of the Kashmir issue so that they can play their due role in this regard," he added. He urged expatriate Pakistanis, Kashmiris and human rights organisations to make the march successful by ensuring their maximum participation in it.
Barrister Sultan, who is also President of Pakistan TehreekiInsaf (PTI) AJKChapter, said the march was being held at the time when United States of America and the UN General Secretary backtoback asked both Pakistan and India to hold talks for resolving the Kashmir issue.
He said Pakistan's Permanent Representative in the UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi had also highlighted the issue in the Security Council. He said that people of Indian held Kashmir would not compromise on its legitimate right to self-determination in line with the resolutions passed by the United Nations Security Council.-PR
