KMC asked to enforce Urdu in its departments

Administrator Karachi Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui on Wednesday directed heads of all departments of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to enforce Urdu language in their departments in letter and spirit. Meanwhile, KMC's Mehekma-e-Forogh Wa Nifaz-e-Urdu (Urdu Promotion and Implementation department) has offered its assistance to all the KMC departments in getting translated official documents such as forms, notices, receipts, etc into Urdu for ensuring enforcement of the language in their offices.
According to a KMC press release issued on Wednesday, all proceedings/documentations at KMC offices were to be done in Urdu in accordance with KMC's two resolutions (No-679 & 557) which were adopted by KMC Council on Sept, 30 1986 and June 25, 1986.
