Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq has said that the celebrations of August 14h from Turkham up to Sri Nagar was commendable and clearly reflected the Kashmiris' love for Pakistan. He said while talking to a delegation led by JI Sheikhupura chief and the JI chief from Quetta at Mansoroa on Sunday.
He said that India had detained elderly Kashmiri leaders Syed Ali Gilani and Mir Wayze in their homes but it could not stop the Kashmiris from celebrating Pakistan's Independence Day. Hundreds of thousands of Kashmiris had brought out rallies carrying the Pakistani flags to show that they were with Pakistan, Sirajul Haq said that Pakistan was a geographical entity as also an ideology and a goal for which the Kashmiris were rendering sacrifices.
In reply to a question, the JI chief said that the statement by Senator Mushahid Ullah indicated that the ruling party suffered from difference of opinion due to which such developments were taking place.
Continuing, the JI chief said that the issue of MQM's resignations related more with the establishment than the civil government. The MQM's only demand was to stop the targeted operation although Altaf Hussain had himself demanded military operation in Karachi.
He said that with the Rangers operation, crime had come down in the port city. He said that Karachi's actual issue was the rule of law as the series of crises spread over years had added to the problems of the people of Karachi.
He said it seemed that the Establishment had withdrawn its cover from MQM's head and the MQM was feeling lonely. He said, according to international and national institutions, the situation in Karachi had changed and the law and order had greatly improved. The people of Karachi and Quetta had celebrated the Independence Day with zeal and fervour, thus showing their patriotism.
He said that the goal before the JI was to establish the supremacy of the constitution and democracy. The JI wanted the supremacy of Deen and not of any personality or party, and it would continue its struggle till the last.
He said that revolution was brought about by winning the hearts of the people and not through gun. He said the JI was determined to turn Pakistan into an Islamic, welfare and democratic state.
JI chief said that the rulers were like parents to the citizens' but if the rulers themselves began looting their children and deprived their wards the basic facilities of life, they would lose the right to rule. He said the ruling clique was usurping the rights of the people.
The heirs of political leaders were always leading happy lives and their children studied in London, Paris and Washington etc. They would rush to foreign capitals for minor ailments. He said that the JI was determined to end this system based on injustice, tyranny and exploitation.
