Rice prices fell sharply on the grain market on Wednesday in the process of trading, dealers said. On the rice sector, Basmati/D98-Shahdadkot low type was down by Rs 100 to Rs 4100 and best quality was down by Rs 300 to Rs 4200, Basmati No 386 Red new low variety lost Rs 900 to Rs 3800 and the fine quality was lower by Rs 800 to Rs 4000, Basmati No 386 normal new shed Rs 600 to Rs 3600 and good variety was down by Rs 500 to Rs 3800, Irri-6 Sindh low type, however, was up by Rs 50 to Rs 2925 while the best quality was unchanged at Rs 2950, they added.
On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcakes with bag Sindh (old) inferior quality was lower by Rs 50 to Rs 1550 while good type was inert at Rs 1700, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh (new) held the overnight levels, Broken Basmati low type lost Rs 600 to Rs 4200 and the good type was down by Rs 200 to Rs 4800, they said. On the cereals side, Moong Punjab was higher by Rs 250 to Rs 9250 and Moong Afghan, however, lost the same amount to Rs 11750, they said. On the seeds side, cottonseeds oilcake with bag Sindh old quoted at Rs 1650 and Rs 1700, they said Prices were unchanged on the grams sector, they said.
