Multan bound Mehr Express coming from Rawalpindi via Kundian derailed at Muzaffargarh Railway Station followed by oil-cargo train which derailed some hours before at same point. Railways authority said that general manager has ordered an inquiry into the incident because passengers train was derailed after rescue operation and restoration of the track by the Railways engineering staff.
Divisional Superintendent Railways ShahRukh Khan told that the incident took place at 5 am near Muzaffargarh Railway Station crossing when at least five bogies of a train derailed. The train was en route to Multan from Rawalpindi. No casualty was occurred and no one injured. District Co-ordination Officer Muzaffargarh Hafiz Shaukat Ali arranged private transport to send the passengers to their destination.
