A meeting of the Standing Committee of National Assembly on Commerce held on Friday to review performance of Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) and steps taken on behalf of it for the promotion of trade activities in the province. Chairman of the Standing Committee Siraj Mohammad Khan presided over the meeting. The meeting also reviewed steps taken by Small and Medium Enterprise Development Authority (Smeda) and effective measures and strategy for the achievement of required targets.
MNAs, Chaudhry Mohammad Shahbaz Babar, Chaudhry Asad-ur-Rehman, Mohammad Pervez Malik, Wasim Akhtar Sheikh, Mian Mohammad Rashid, Tahira Aurangzeb, Zeb Jaffar, Shehzada Omaradi Tiwana, Mian Javed Latif, Syed Ali Hassan Gilani, Mehreen Raza Bhutto, Nazir Ahmad, Shazia Marri, Musarrat Zeb, Sajida Begum, Dr Fozia Hameed, Shinara Munsab Ali, Federal Secretary for Commerce, Arbab Shehzad, Secretary TDAP, Rabia Chaudhry, Secretary to the Standing Committee on Commerce, Daud Nasim, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), SMEDA, Alamgir Chaudhry, President, KPCCI, Fawad Ishaq, Director TDAP, Nauman Bashir, officials of TDAP and other senior officials of the province attended the meeting.
The meeting stressed on provision of trade opportunities to women entrepreneurs. The meeting also held detailed discussion on different problems and resolution to trade related matters including the establishment of Expo Centre and Dry Port in Peshawar, Pak-Afghan Trade and Industry and the accomplishment of targets of women entrepreneurship. On this occasion, the members of the committee also highlighted the facilitation of women entrepreneurship and its importance. Meanwhile, the members of the standing committee during their stay in provincial metropolis also visited Peshawar Museum.
