PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Saturday voiced concern over terrorist acts carried out in Bannu and Peshawar in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Mastung in Balochistan, due to which he had to cancel a public meeting in Malakand.

Addressing a press conference here, he said despite efforts the desired goal of complete elimination of militancy and extremism from the country had not yet been achieved.

The National Action Plan should be implemented in its letter and spirit to root out the menace, he added.

Bilawal said the Malakand public gathering had been cancelled due to the situation arisen after the Mastung blast. He, however, said he would visit Malakand to meet party workers.

He alleged that the PPP workers of PPP had been pressurized to change loyalties and the party would raise the matter with the Election Commission of Pakistan.

The PPP leader said despite difficulties his party would not boycott the election, which should be held on time.

He suggested that the parliament should be utilized to bring all the stakeholders on the same page. The country had made a lot of in its democratic journey during the last 10 years, he said, adding that some elements had not learnt from the past mistakes.

Bilawal claimed that the PPP would win the election as it was receiving a good response from the people and form the next government.

He said all the state institutions should be strengthened as it was the only way to to address the problems being faced by the country and its people.

Responding to a question, he said prescribed rules and regulations should be followed in transfer and posting of government officials in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
