LIMA: Peru's annual inflation rate may drop below last month's 1.43 percent pace in the third quarter because of a high base for comparison but is not expected to fall under 1 percent, the central bank said on Friday.
Inflation is still expected to reach the central bank's goal of 2 percent sometime in the fourth quarter, Jorge Estrella, the manager of the central bank's economic studies, told journalists on a call.
Estrella added that the economy likely grew by about 6 percent in May from the same month a year earlier.
