LSE index gains 60.51 points

The LSE-25 index gained 60.51 points to close at 5869.85 against 5809.34 of Monday amid bullish sentiments on the Lahore Stock Exchange on Tuesday. The transaction volume was increased to 2.898 million shares compared with 2.536 million shares traded a day earlier.
The market was opened on a healthy note and stayed in green zone following buyers' interest in Mari Petroleum, Byco Petroleum, Engro Corporation, Pakistan National Shipping, Maple Leaf Cement, Pioneer Cement, Fauji Cement, Noon Sugar Mills, Avanceon Limited, Pak Elektron, Pakgen Power, Japan Power and Bank of Punjab. However, profit taking was also seen in PPL, OGDC, Hascol Petroleum, PSO, Sui Southern, Adamjee Insurance, Arif Habib Corporation, Allied Bank, National Bank, Bank Al-Habib and PIA. The losers were slightly more than the gainers, as out of a total of 101 active issues, 21 companies posted gains, 22 suffered losses while 58 companies stayed glued to their overnight closing.
