In order to maintain peace and eliminate sectarianism, a 76-member Ittehad-e-Bain-ul-Muslamin Committee comprising Ulema and Mashaikh has been constituted in Punjab. The committee, constituted on the instructions of Chief Minister Punjab, will play an important role in controlling sectarian-based speeches and literature besides resolving sectarian issues during Muharram-ul-Harram.
Provincial Minister for Auqaf and Religious Affairs will be the chairman of the committee while Secretary/Chief Administrator Auqaf will be its secretary. Giving effective representation to women, the CM has included one woman from all schools of thought into the committee. Ittehad-e-Bain-ul-Muslamin Committee will comprise Ulema and Mashaikh of all sects, co-ordinator and official members.
