At least four people were killed in separate incidents of violence, here on Thursday. According to police and rescue sources, Syed Ali Hassan, 65, father of National Bank of Pakistan's Senior Executive Vice President Syed Ibn-e- Hasan was gunned down by unknown persons near Orangi Town's Rehmat Chowk. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities.
The sources said the incident occurred at around 1pm when Ali Hassan was sitting inside a vegetable shop in Orangi Town. Suddenly, some four armed men on two motorbikes appeared, opened fire on him and managed to flee from the scene leaving him dead on the spot. He sustained nine bullet wounds He was a resident of Nazimabad. He went to Orangi Town to receive the rent of his property. The deceased was laid to rest in Wadi-e-Hussain, near Super Highway on Thursday night. The staff of NBP, President Karachi Press Club (KPC), Imitiaz Faran and Secretary, Amir Latif have expressed grief over the sad demise, and urged upon the government to arrest culprits involved in the incident.
Luqman Kazmi, 32, son of Syed Abdul Ghafar was shot dead by unknown assailants in F B Area. The body was shifted to ASH for an autopsy. In another incident, Faraz, 18, son of Pervez, was killed in an alleged police encounter near Kalakot in Lyari. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-formalities. Police said the Faraz was allegedly involved in target killing and was a member of Baba Ladla Group Lyari.
In another incident, Ikaram, 35 was shot and killed by unknown persons near Ghaziabad in Orangi Town. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medico-legal formalities. Hafizullah, 35, son of Abdullah Jan, was shot and injured by unknown armed men near Punjab Factory, Garden. He was rushed to CHK for treatment. Meanwhile Unknown bike riders hurled a hand grenade on a police mobile van in North Nazimabad area here on Thursday morning. Police said that unidentified armed men riding motorcycles attacked the police van with a hand grenade near Farooq-e-Azam Mosque at Sakhi Hassan area in North Nazimabad. The van was damaged in the blast. Fortunately, no casualty was reported in the attack. Police called additional contingents of security forces and Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) at the scene and cordoned off the area.
