Around 72 alleged criminals held during 24 hours

Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested around 72 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted at various parts of the metropolis during last 24 hours. According to police, they have conducted some 77 targeted raids and seven encounters in ongoing operations in the city that led the arrests of 72 alleged criminals involved in different criminal activities.
During the operations, police arrested some 20 criminals under Arms Act, 15 were arrested under Narcotics act, 14 absconders, four robbers/dacoits, one proclaimed offender, and some 17 others involved in criminal activities were also arrested during the said time period. Police further claimed to have recovered 25 guns, one AK-47, four hand grenades 1,662 gram hashish and 12 liquors bottles from their possession.
