The FESCO Board of Directors (BoDs) and Chief Executive Officer Khurshid Alam have inked a performance contract to evaluate and improve the performance of the officers and staff of FESCO up to the standards of NEPRA. FESCO is the first Disco that has signed this agreement which is a milestone in bringing efficiency and transparency in the affairs of FESCO by linking performance with a well-knit system of accountability.
Khurram Mukhtar, Chairman of FESCO Board of Directors, presided over the 124/12th meeting of BOD. He said the government was taking multidimensional steps to improve overall efficiency of the power sector. This agreement will prove an effective tool for efficient and result oriented planning and thus helps the Distribution Company for promising planning. He said the ultimate objective of FESCO was to maintain its first position among all distribution companies of Pakistan and in this connection effective policy making was already in progress.
Regarding the performance contract, he said that it has clearly identified the targets for line losses, recovery, financial, customer services, ratio of defective meters and transformers, duration of load management, efficiency of the human resource and safety parameter etc.
According to the agreement, the Chief Executive of FESCO will sign an agreement with management directors/chief engineers in addition to the managers, deputy managers, XENs, SDOs and superintendents at lower level. This agreement will provide an opportunity to evaluate the individual as well as collective performance of FESCO coupled with accountability of concerned staff.
