Punjab University's three-day annual Book Fair 2013, under the aegis of PU administration, will be inaugurated on Thursday (today) at the corridor of Institute of Education and Research, New Campus. The event will continue from 9am to 8pm till March 30.
According to Chief Librarian Chaudhry Muhammad Hanif, there would be 158 stalls at the fair and all the arrangements have been completed. Renowned personalities from all walks of life will be participating in the book fair. While Punjab University College of Art and Design's first research "Jamal: A Journal of Aesthetics" has been launched at the college's Anna Molka Art Gallery on Wednesday.
Former Foreign and Education Minister, Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali, Punjab University Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr Mujahid Kamran, renowned poet Amjad Islam Amjad, Principal CAD Professor Dr Rahat Naveed Masood, Dr Barbra Smith, Principal Kinnaird College Professor Dr Rukhsana David, renowned cartoonists Maxim and Javed Iqbal, researchers and a number of students were present on the occasion.
Addressing the gathering, Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali lauded the publication of the journal and said that fine efforts had been made to bring the journal out. He said that the journal would be a good contribution to the cause of aesthetic art. PU VC Dr Mujahid Karman congratulated Dr Rahat and team for publication of the journal. Dr Rahat thanked Vice Chancellor for providing funds for publication of the journal.
