Within Asian countries, Pakistan is the 12th largest consuming country using primary energy by 85 million tons of oil equivalent (Mtoe), which has risen by 5% in 2019.

Although Pakistan makes up 0.8% of worldwide emissions, it is disproportionately affected by the effects of global warming each year, resulting in record floods and rising temperatures year after year.

For first world countries and even for third-world countries like Pakistan, switching to green energy completely is not a viable option, it comes with huge costs and time. But fuel management is a better and an easier option to switch to. It reduces costs by saving fuel, monitoring the vehicles, keeping an eye on the driver and also alerts the owner for any fleet related issues beforehand preventing any damage costs.

In Pakistan, fuel prices have spiked to almost double in just a year. Ride hailing, food delivery and courier companies all have doubled their prices in just a span of a year burdening people and businesses connected to them. Doesn't make sense nor head or tail? I burn 3 liters of diesel per acre for irrigation and irrigate the fields at least 7 times over a 6-month period, and I cultivate 120 acres. So how is FMS going to help me reduce pollution? Solar energy installation is expensive, thanks to successive governments and their circus troops, who did not encourage local manufacturing of solar equipment. Farmers used to feed Pakistan but not anymore, mainly because we are at the mercy of greedy characters.

FMS is meant for cargo delivery and task driven systems. It can point waste in the system and reduce fuel usage by reducing journeys. A lot of vehicle usage in corporate sector is un-needed and cannot be spotted without a good FMS system.

@KU, There are other options for farmers in the IoT domain. For example, using GPS based harvest-tracking, you can identify which land patches yielded the most and the least. Then, soil testing in those patches can reveal information which can be used to increase harvest in the future.
