LAHORE: The local cotton market on Tuesday remained steady and the trading volume remained good. Cotton Analyst Naseem Usman told Business Recorder that the rate of new crop of cotton in Sindh and Punjab is Rs 20,000 per maund. The rate of Phutti in Sindh and Punjab is in between Rs 9,000 to Rs 9,200 per maund. 600 bales of Sanghar and 1,000 bales of Tando Adam were sold at Rs 20,000 per maund.

Approximately, 4000 bales of Tando Adam were sold at Rs 19,800 to Rs 20,000 per maund, 600 bales of Shahdad Pur were sold at Rs 20,000 per maund, 200 bales of Hyderabad were sold at Rs 19,900 per maund, 2400 bales of Sanghar were sold at Rs 19,800 to Rs 20,000 per maund, 200 bales of Burewala were sold at Rs 20,500 per maund, 200 bales of Chichawatni were sold at Rs 20,300 per maund and 871 bales of Nawab Shah were sold in between Rs 17,500 to Rs 17,600 per maund.

The spot rate remained unchanged at Rs 20,000 per maund. Polyester Fiber was available at Rs 355 per kg.
