imeeeeerLAHORE: The sub-committee of Senate standing committee on railways in a meeting here Monday expressed serious concern over illegal occupation and encroachment of Pakistan railways land by federal and provincial government’s organizations.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of head of the sub-committee Senator Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi. Briefing the media, after meeting the committee chairman said that railways officials were found involved directly or indirectly in railways land encroachment.

Regarding Shalimar Medical Complex, the committee said that the case was sub-judice so let the court decide the case. The committee said that directions have been given to the federal and provincial organizations that have possession of railway land to adopt thorough procedure for getting it on lease or vacate it.

The committee directed the Railways authorities to submit a detailed report in this regard within a month.
